Getting To & From the Station

This page provides information about the transport links for getting to and from Walkden station.


Several bus routes stop right outside the station entrance or just across the road opposite, and more still run from the centre of Walkden (a half-mile walk uphill from the station).

There is no station car park at Walkden but parking can usually be found in the nearby streets. PLEASE park with consideration for local residents who still need to use the pavements and streets to go about their daily lives.

The station is located conveniently close to the "Salford Loop Lines" cycle path network, and access to the Little Hulton to Monton cycle path just a couple of hundred yards from the station. This excellent path along the former LNWR railway line is traffic free and runs through the popular recreation area of Worsley Woods and down to the Bridgewater Canal at Monton.

Unfortunately there are no facilities for storing cycles in the station itself but two steel cycle hoops are available on the pavement outside the station entrance.
